Good News: A Weekly Update from St Thomas Church—March 13, 2014
Memo found today in the St Thomas parish register of worship services: March 11, 2012
Clocks changed First daffodils
I laughed out loud when I read this, shook my head, and thought, “not this year!” No daffodils today, but lots of melting snow, bright sunshine and mud. The daffodils will come – we have no doubt of that. There may be a bit more winter weather first, but the daffodils and all the rest will come.
Even as we settle into Lent, we know that Easter will come. But first: the time of reflection and prayer, the time of increased devotion and awareness of the importance of God in our lives, and the enormous love that God has for each one of us, and for all of creation.
Plan to join us for Evensong on March 23 at 5:00. This time of prayer, music and scripture is a good way to let go of the busy day and settle in to the peace and rest of the night. Following the service there will be a covered dish supper in the parish hall. Bring your favorite dish to share, and enjoy company and fellowship as we continue our Lenten journey. All are welcome – invite family, friends and neighbors.
Peace and blessing, Carol+
Hi, all! In addition to our weekly bulletin, there is a Girl Scout flyer for "Exploring Careers for Women" that looks great. It's being held right here at St. Thomas' on Sunday, April 6, so it's ultra convenient, too! You might want to check it out :)
