Good News: A Weekly Update from St Thomas—November 10, 2016

Screen Shot 2014-01-21 at 2.51.46 PMIt has been quite a week. Some are rejoicing, others are grieving, and many are weary of a very long and often vindictive political campaign. As people of God, we are called to love one another, as God has loved us. Sometimes easier said than done. In his letter to the Thessalonians, Paul writes, “Brothers and sisters, do not weary in doing what is right.” Again, sometimes easier said than done. As disciples and stewards “in training”, part of what is right for us is loving God with all our hearts, minds and souls, and continually striving to frequently and generously thank Him for every good gift we have been given…and there have been many! We are also called to be generous with one another in our respect, encouragement and forbearance.

So, take deep breaths. Remember to look around and rejoice in all that we see and experience each and every day. Be kind to one another and remember that everyone is going through a lot every day. And always, always, look for ways to share God’s love.

Let us pray: Heavenly Father, in you we live and move and have our being: We humbly pray you so to guide and govern us by your Holy Spirit, that in all the cares and occupations of our life we may not forget you, but may remember that we are ever walking in your sight; through \ Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
