Screen Shot 2014-01-21 at 2.51.46 PM “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” Remember that you are human, and part of God’s creation Remember that you are connected with everything and everyone on this planet, in this universe. Remember that every day offers challenges and opportunities; our choices make a difference. Far from duty or obligation, Lent can be an opportunity for us to be renewed, and to grow in our love for God, one another and ourselves. How will you use these forty days?

Episcopal Relief and Development offers an online daily meditation – you can sign up here: The March newsletter for St Thomas Church has some ideas as well.  There are devotional booklets available at St Thomas, along with a pamphlet, “Opportunities for Lent 2015.” Offerings from the Presiding Bishop and our own bishop can be found online at and respectively.  Lent has begun. May it be holy and life-giving for us all.

Peace and blessing,

Mourning doves, blue jays, cardinals, woodpeckers, squirrels and more outside St Thomas Church this day of lightly falling snow. What do you see from where you are this day?
